Public Service Announcement, Issued on: Monday October 31, 2016, at 10:20 am. - Discontinuation of – Help Haiti Initiative

The Office of Disaster Preparedness & Emergency Management (ODPEM) uses this medium to formally thank individuals and organizations for their contributions towards the “Help Haiti Initiative” in the aftermath of devastation brought about by Hurricane Matthew on the Caribbean State.

Cognizant of the need for the Haitian economy to begin its rebuilding process, the immediate focus will be shifted from accepting in-kind contribution, with emphasis to be placed on channeling financial contributions from Jamaica to the Haiti. As a result, Tuesday November 1, 2016 is the deadline for in-kind donations to be dropped off at the ODPEM, as a final shipment will leave for Haiti on Wednesday November 2, 2016.

Members of the public who are still desirous of helping the Haiti recovery process can do so by making monetary deposits at any branch of the National Commercial Bank (NCB), the account number is 21-2387304.
