2010 Atlantic Hurricane Season Officially Ends Today

The 2010 Atlantic Hurricane Season officially ends today, Tuesday November 30, 2010 however, the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM) is reminding the public to continue utilizing best practices that can reduce risk and save lives as it relates to rainfall and flooding.

With the 2010 Atlantic Hurricane Season now at an end focus should now be shifted to implementing the necessary measures and making preparations for the upcoming Traditional Dry Season, which begins January 1 to April 30, 2011.

At this time the public is being asked to pay attention to water conservation and water harvesting methods. It is important for persons to be conscious of the amount of water used, and seek ways to use less or reuse water whenever possible.

As we approach the Traditional Dry Season the public is also advised to take the following precautions:
