Volunteers for Help Haiti

Help Haiti- Volunteers Continue to Show Support

Volunteers continue to show their support for the Help Haiti initiative coordinated by The Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM).  ODPEM reports that there has been an outpouring of requests from the Jamaican public to assist with aiding the relief efforts to Haiti.


From Friday, January 15, 2010 volunteers have been called out to assist with the sorting, packing and transporting items that have been donated to the Help Haiti cause.


To become a volunteer with ODPEM persons must register online at www.odpem.org.jm or call for information – (876) 906 9674-5 / 754 9077-8.  Persons who register online will be contacted accordingly.


“Help Haiti” is being coordinated by the ODPEM as directed by the Office of the Prime Minister as a response to the devastating effect of the earthquake that struck Haiti on Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2010.
