Update on Kingston Wharf Chlorine Spill

The Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM) has received reports that the Kingston Wharf, Berth 1 and its surrounding areas are safe for persons traveling and working in the vicinity. 

The chlorine spill which occurred earlier today at the Kingston Wharf, Berth 1 has now been corrected and all hazardous substances have been removed by the National Water Commission (NWC) and the Jamaica Fire Brigade (JFB). Port operations in the affected areas of the wharf have resumed normal duties.
