As the country transitions from its traditional drought period into the rainy season, the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM) urges that citizens should remain vigilant in conserving water.

As the Southern sections of the island continue to experience intermittent bouts of rainfall, the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM) is reminding persons in the general vicinity where continuous rainfall and/or flooding occurred to continue monitoring reports carried via the media.

The Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM) is advising that it has received reports of flooding following persistent rainfall in sections of St. Elizabeth.

The Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM) is advising that considerable progress has been realized in the control and confinement of the tyre fire that has been burning at the Riverton City Disposal site since Sunday.
