The Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM) in consultation with the Jamaica Fire is advising there currently are no flames at the Riverton City Waste Disposal site. The Jamaica Fire Brigade (JFB) continues to conduct mopping- up activities.

The daytime operations at the Riverton City Disposal Site today yielded much success. The Jamaica Fire Brigade was able to focus its attention on the last two remaining areas of concern. They have reported that based on the achievements of today there should be a significant reduction in the levels of smoke emission.
